Ernest Osaretin Izedonmwen is a Dallas based attorney. He received his first degree in law from the University of Ife, Nigeria (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1983. He holds an LLM (Corporate law) degree from the University of Benin, Nigeria, LLM (Maritime and Comparative law) degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and JD from Texas A&M Law School, USA.
He was first called to the Nigerian bar in 1984, and the Texas bar in 2003. He began his law career with the Legal Aid Office of Nigeria and later worked as a law professor. He later worked for Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C. in Dallas, Texas (which at time was one of the biggest law firms in the United States). He is a principal and founder of Ernest O. Izedonmwen and Associates, a Dallas, Texas based law firm. Mr. Izedonmwen has been a past president of the Nigerian American Lawyers Association, DFW. He is a fellow of the International Center for Ocean Development (Canada).
He is married to Adesuwa and they have 4 children. He loves teaching, traveling, swimming, reading and reciting poems. He has authored several legal articles and seminal presentations. He is the author of the critically acclaimed novel “A Walk in the Rain.” published in 2019.
