Dr Unoma Okorafor
Dr. Unoma Okorafor is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Herbal Goodness (formerly Herbal Papaya) a health and wellness company that manufactures premium quality, organic super fruit and food ingredients and products including herbal teas, nutraceuticals, smoothie powders, liquid extracts, supplements and energy bars. As 100% women owned company, Unoma is passionate about empowering girls and women, supporting farmers and their communities and supporting the environment through sustainable practices.
A serial & social entrepreneur, Dr. Okorafor also Founded WAAW Foundation, a non profit that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education for African girls and is a Principal at Fairview Technologies Inc, a data science, cybersecurity and forensics consulting and solutions company.
Dr. Okorafor received her undergraduate degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She obtained the M.Sc. degree from Rice University, Houston, TX, and her Ph.D. at Texas A & M University all in Electrical & Computer Engineering. She is a graduate of INSEAD’s Social Entrepreneurship program and Stanford University Business School’s Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship. She is a 2015 graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program, a 2018 graduate of the Dallas SBA – Emerging Leaders program.
Prior to founding Herbal Goodness, Dr Okorafor worked as Technology Lead at the Education Technology Division at Texas Instruments, Dallas Texas. Before that, she also interned at Intel, HP and IBM research labs.

Founded in 2011 by Dr. Unoma Okorafor, a native of Nigeria, West Africa, Dr. Okorafor launched a personal journey to find papaya products to support a healthy pregnancy. Having been raised on fresh organic papayas, just off the trees in her native country, she was shocked to discover the radical difference between the non-GMO papaya she was raised on, and the GMO papaya varieties abundant in stores in the U.S.A.
