President and Founder Books for Development, a Houston area non-profit dedicated to building libraries in developing countries (2011-date). Through Books for Development and a predecessor project at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, over 400 libraries have been established in Northwest, Central and Eastern Uganda (including the National Zoo), Northern Kenya, Northern and Southern Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Belize and Jamaica, using donated books and all-volunteer labor to sort and establish library collections.

Additionally, for almost 40 years, Mark has served as an attorney with a diverse docket emphasizing commercial and oil and gas matters.  He also has an extensive experience serving as an Arbitrator, Master in Chancery (special master) and Mediator by appointment of State District Courts.
