He has advised Multilateral Institutions across various sectors and industries, including Healthcare, Agriculture, Technology. He is a seasoned International Healthcare Management expert, boasting extensive local and international insights.
His notable accomplishments include selection to membership of the Nigerian Presidential Health Sector Reforms committee, 2019 charged with framing the country’s healthcare reforms policies for the next two decades. Combining his healthcare leadership experience as a physician executive and entrepreneur, he excels in forging multi-sectoral stakeholder collaborations. His reputation extends globally, as he serves as a Country Ambassador for Health Finance Institute, Washington DC. He provided leadership in the strategic planning and project management of the $300 million African Medical Center of Excellence sponsored by the African Export-Import Bank. This groundbreaking initiative, in collaboration with King’s College Hospital, London, focuses on combating high burden non-communicable diseases across Africa and stemming outbound medical tourism.
He played a pivotal role while serving as the pioneer Medical Director of Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi, towards the successful deployment of the $68 million IFHAA II Fund by leading the integration of the largest private hospital in Nigeria. He also steered the expansion project with building specialized programs like Critical Care, Minimally-invasive Neurosurgery, Urology, Interventional Cardiology, and Nephrology. His diverse training and experience include an internship at the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Germany, specializing in Visceral & Cardiothoracic Transplantation. He also pursued Project Management & Innovation studies at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, USA. With credentials such as PMP® (Project Management Professional) and SASM (SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master) certifications, Dr. Azubike has a robust skill set. He is an alumnus of the esteemed College of Medicine, University of Lagos, holding a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS). He further earned his MBA in International Healthcare Management from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany.
